In my last blog post I talked about some of the finer points of negotiation and mediation in order to achieve a maximum settlement outcome, if you are interested in learning more about negotiating a settlement and or mediation I would recommend the following books. There is a bestselling book by Robert Cialdini, Influence: Science and Practice, 4th Edition 2001. Another classic book on negotiation is Robert Fischer, William Uyr and Bruce Patton, Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In, 2nd Edition, 1981.

A good book for a personal injury negotiation which is an adversarial negotiation strategy, rather than a problem solving strategy is the book Starting With No… The Negotiating Tools That The Pros Don’t Want You To Know, by Jim Camp 2002.

You would note the above books may seem dated but these are classic proven successful negotiation strategies.
